Got Peace?

Our president won the Nobel Peace Prize last week, receiving a lot of criticism from the American media. The hubbub over the award reveals the fact that our nation takes peace seriously, and can sense – to some extent – whether someone has delivered it or not.

The reason I say “to some extent” is because, while seeing that the president has not delivered enough peace to win this award, they are blind to the true giver of peace. He is not a president, he’s a Prince:

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

In the midst of life’s trials and hardships, we will experience peace if we trust we are in the hands of Prince Jesus, and that he uses them to make us more like him (Romans 8:28-29).
