Thoughts on the Use of Time

As I get older, I am more aware of the fact that I don’t have as much time left on this earth as I used to. Almost three decades have flown by! Seeing how time can fly by has helped me to be careful not to waste it.

When I was in jr. high, I wasted a lot of time on TV, video games, and sports (the internet wasn’t big yet). But why did I waste so much of it before? Why do you waste time, too? Let me give you an example.

Imagine you had $1 million dollars. A lot of money right? At first, you would feel so rich and would buy whatever you want. But eventually, the money runs lower and lower, which forces you to be more careful with how you spend it.

You see, when we are young, we feel like we have a million dollars worth of time, so we waste it. But as we get older, we realize we have lost a lot of time, and there is no getting it back. So we are more careful with it.

How are you wasting your time? What could you be doing with your time that will have a greater impact for the kingdom of Jesus? I’m going to guess that it is not more TV, facebook, and video games.
