Here are the mp3′s for the Biblical Sexuality Series:
Message #1: What the Bible Says About Men, Women, and Marriage
Discussion Questions:
1. What are the three traits that define manhood and womanhood? Describe how Jesus and the church model them.
2. Think of some movies that have men and women romantically involved, and compare them to the model set by Jesus and the church: How do the movies you thought up accurately display the traits of manhood and womanhood? How do they get the traits switched around? How do they fail to fully display the traits, or fail even to display them at all?
3. Think about your most recent crush. What is it about that person that attracts you? Are any of those traits modeled by Jesus and the church, or are you attracted to the world’s model of manhood or womanhood?
4. Are you trying to become the type of man or woman who fits into Jesus’ model or the world’s model? How do you fall short of living out your three traits, and how will you look to the model set by Jesus to grow in those areas?
Message #2: What the Bible Says About Pornography
Discussion Questions:
1. What is pornography? Give a definition in your own words, and some examples.
2. How does the lesson of Matthew 5:27-30 expand the definition of pornography? Provide some examples.
3. How do manifestations of lust particular to men and women “fit together”? How does this contrast with they way the roles of men and women are supposed to fit together, based on Jesus’ relationship with the church?
4. How does lust appear in your life?
5. How will the gospel affect how you present yourself, and how you view members of the opposite sex?
Message #3: What the Bible Says About Homosexuality
Here’s counsel from John Piper to those with homosexual desires and to parents whose children experience such desires.
Discussion Questions:
1. What is the Bible’s stance on homosexual practices? Does the Bible say that homosexuality is worse than other sins, not as bad, or equally bad as other sins?
2. Explain how homosexual behavior breaks the model for men and women by Jesus and the church. How does it break down the distinction between the Creator and creation in Romans 1:22-27?
3. Suppose a good friend of yours told you that he or she was struggling with homosexual desires. How would you comfort and council your friend based on what you learned tonight?
4. What has your attitude been toward people who live a homosexual lifestyle? What changes do you need to make in your attitude toward them, so that you can lovingly share the gospel with them? Be specific!
